How the calculation works
The formula divides your annual salary by the number of working seconds in a year.
- Annual salary ÷ weekly hours × vacation weeks = yearly work seconds
- Value per second = annual salary ÷ yearly work seconds
- Multiply by 60 for per-minute value, 3,600 for per-hour, 86,400 for per-day
This is an estimate. It does not account for taxes, bonuses, benefits, commuting costs, unpaid work, or investment returns. Your actual value per dollar varies by industry, experience, and market conditions.

Your salary, age, hours, and vacation weeks stay in your browser. We never share or sell this data. Analytics tracks website usage only with your consent — your calculator inputs are never sent to Google.
